MUMBAI: Television’s ace producer Ekta Kapoor recently filed a complaint at Juhu Police Station after she realized that Rs. 60,000 INR that she had in her bag went missing. The case has been registered under section 379 of IPC by the cops. However, no arrest has been made so far.
A friend close to Ekta told a leading publication that on Saturday, when she lifted her bag, it felt lighter. On counting the money, she realized that 60,000 was missing.
ACP Dattatraty Pandurang Bhargude confirmed the news and said that it could be the work of someone working in Ekta’s Juhu bungalow and that the accused will be arrested soon.
A team of three officers had been formed to investigate the matter. The cops have already questioned five people, including the driver and domestic help. And they have not given a clean chit to anyone yet.
The address and the bank account details of the five suspects have been noted. The accounts will be scanned to find out if the stolen cash was deposited or whether they have given the cash to any of their relatives.
Even the CCTV footage is being scanned to find out if any outsider entered her bungalow to commit the offense.
